How Morgan Balavage Built a Coaching Empire Off-Grid Without Hustle or Wi-Fi

Morgan Balavage

There’s a moment I’ve come to recognize in the work I do.

It’s when someone hears their story reflected back with such clarity that everything else starts to click.

The offer. The voice. The reason people should trust them.

Not because it’s polished. But because it’s real.

That’s the heart of what I'm doing for my Wildly Known clients.

It’s not about writing better copy. (Although, hey... they do say it's pretty great.) It’s about uncovering the kind of proof that makes people feel something.

The kind that doesn’t require you to be louder or more impressive. Just honest and clear.

I’ve got 5 spots open for the month of June. One 45-minute conversation turns into the stories and language that finally capture what makes your work powerful, trustworthy, and worth paying attention to.

Which brings me to Morgan.

She’s not a client. She’s a guest on the podcast this week. But her story captures the essence of what Wildly Known stands for.

She built her business off-grid.

With a flip phone.

No Zoom.

No perfect funnel.

Just clarity. And a deep trust in her own way of doing things.

This is how she did it. And why it matters.

She Built Her Business from a Cliff in Baja (No, Seriously)

Morgan Balavage didn’t start her coaching empire with a perfect funnel or a giant list.

She started it with a severance check, a yoga mat, and a “never again” attitude.

After two decades of corporate life: PR, accounting, marketing, the works. Morgan got laid off. Most people would’ve panicked. She grinned.

Because what she felt wasn’t fear. It was relief. Freedom. That layoff was her permission slip to build something of her own. Spoiler: she didn’t need permission.

Yoga Pays the Mortgage Now (No One Was More Surprised Than Her)

At first, Morgan just wanted to teach yoga full-time. But trading hours for dollars? Not exactly the vision-board life.

So she figured out how to build passive income streams. Enough to pay her Santa Barbara mortgage. Other yoga teachers started asking questions.

“How are you affording this?”

“Wait, you’re not teaching more classes?”

They didn’t want more poses. They wanted a paycheck. So Morgan started coaching them.

Turns out, what she knew from 20 years in corporate translated beautifully into helping creative people make real money without selling their soul or selling out.

The ADHD Brain Hack You Didn’t See Coming

Morgan works with all kinds of entrepreneurs now. But her sweet spot? Fellow ADHD idea machines who could start six businesses before breakfast... and finish none.

She gets them. She is them.

That’s why her programs focus on clarity, deadlines, and just enough structure to get things done without sucking the joy out of the process.

And when her own brain rebels against repeat routines, she doesn’t force it. She renames the program. Targets a new niche. Launches on a different platform. Keeps the content. Ditches the boredom.

Smart. Very smart.

This Isn’t About Hustling Harder. It’s About Finally Getting Traction.

Morgan doesn’t teach hustle. She teaches momentum.

One of her clients used to grind nonstop... and get nowhere. After working with Morgan, she’s now booked out, traveling the world, and running her business from her phone.

Another thought she wanted to be a health coach until Morgan helped her realize she didn’t want a business at all. She wanted to move to Hawaii with her husband. So she did.

Success, redefined.

She Runs Her Business from Her Phone. Because She Had To.

During the pandemic, Morgan moved off-grid to Mexico. Her Wi-Fi was a joke. Zoom was out. So she pivoted.

She built a coaching business that works by phone, by text, and by listening. Turns out, clients loved it. So did she.

No camera. No pressure. Just results.

That’s not lazy. That’s efficient. And intentional. She designed her business around her life. Not the other way around.

When in Doubt, Climb a Hill

Once, a big-name media outlet wanted to interview her. The angle felt off. She said no... but pitched something better.

The idea didn’t come from a strategy session. It came halfway up a hill, gasping for air, on a bike ride. A whisper of clarity landed. She turned around. Wrote the pitch. It was accepted.

This is what Morgan teaches: you don’t get your best ideas staring at a screen. You get them while moving your body and calming your mind. Outdoors. In nature. With sunlight in your eyes.

From Business Coach to Storyteller on Tour

Morgan’s next chapter? Storytelling. She’s now touring with The Moth, standing on sold-out stages, making people laugh at her most painful stories.

It’s not therapy. It’s art. It’s alchemy. And it proves something she’s always known:

You don’t have to pretend to be perfect. You just have to be real. That's when people will listen.

Make Nature the Priority. Not the Prize.

Morgan’s mantra isn’t about squeezing in a nature walk after the work’s done. It’s about flipping the script.

Nature isn’t the reward. It’s the fuel.

She watches the sunrise daily, practices Tai Chi, and lets her Chihuahua drag her into the woods for idea-generating strolls. Phone on airplane mode. Notes app at the ready. It’s her idea incubator.

And it works.
